01

What is a queue management system?

A queue management system connects token issue, staff calling and public queue information. Visitors receive a reference and watch for their turn instead of repeatedly asking at the counter. A screen alone shows information; the complete system also defines who issues tokens, which counter serves them and how each visit ends.

02

How the queue works

First, reception or an approved connected workflow creates a token. Staff then call that token to the appropriate counter. A waiting-area display shows the token and counter or pickup status. Plan how staff handle missed calls, repeat calls and completed visits during the demonstration.

03

Choose the software and equipment

Plan DisplayQue StatusBoard, staff access, a compatible TV or signage display, player and network connection. Include mounting, power and cable routes. Ticket dispensers, thermal printers, touch kiosks, wireless calling pads and voice announcements require separate compatibility and availability checks.

04

Match the workflow to your venue

A clinic may use one reception-to-doctor queue. Hospital OPD, diagnostics and pharmacy can need separate service flows. A service centre calls visitors to desks, while a restaurant displays orders ready for collection. Confirm routing, priority rules and any registration or POS connection against your actual process.

05

Queue management system price

The installed cost depends on counters, waiting-area screens, software licences, players, optional peripherals and integrations. Site wiring, mounting, training and support also affect the quote. Share your location and workflow for an itemised proposal; compare initial hardware and setup costs separately from recurring software and support charges.

06

Frequently asked questions

Answers before you request a quote

What is the difference between a token display and a queue management system?

A token display is the screen visitors watch. A queue management system includes the workflow behind it: token creation, staff calling, counter assignment and status updates. MeFirst scopes the software, compatible equipment and installation as one project.

How much does a queue management system cost?

There is no fixed price for every site. The quote depends on the number of counters and screens, software licence, player, optional printer or calling hardware, integrations, installation and support. Send your site location and workflow to receive an itemised quotation with recurring charges identified separately.

Can I use my existing TV for a queue display?

An existing TV can be assessed for input and player compatibility, viewing distance, operating hours and readable text. Send the TV model and a photo of the waiting area. Compatibility and any additional player are confirmed before quotation.

Can the system manage more than one counter?

Token and counter workflows can be planned for multiple service desks. Share the counter count, service types, staff roles and any transfer or priority rules so the proposed configuration can be demonstrated before ordering.

Are WhatsApp queues, online appointments and analytics included?

These are separate requirements to confirm, not standard features promised in this package. Share any need for remote check-in, SMS or WhatsApp alerts, appointments, waiting-time reports or CRM and hospital-system integrations. Availability, licensing and integration effort must be agreed in writing.

Will the system work without internet?

Connectivity and outage behaviour depend on the approved software and player configuration. Ask for a demonstration of what happens when the network fails and how tokens are recovered. Agree a fallback calling process and any backup power requirements before deployment.

Can queue information be shown in Malayalam?

Share the Malayalam and English text, number format and any audio requirements. Confirm fonts, layout readability and supported announcement options in the demonstration. Public healthcare screens should show only the information needed to direct a patient, with sensitive details kept off the display.

Where can I get installation and support?

MeFirst handles queue management enquiries from its Kozhikode base for sites across Kerala. Provide your city and PIN code so delivery, installation, staff training and support arrangements can be confirmed for the project.
